On 9th January 2010, at the Global Issues Forum III, Zaid Ibrahim (former Law Minister) traces the origin of corruption and lawlessness back to the era of Mahatir (former Prime Minister).
He clarified what he meant by lawlessness and how the present system of patronage and corruption in our country promotes lawlessness.
Zaid argued that nothing short of changing the present government will save the country from this state of lawlessness.
Zaid proposed some prerequisites for eradication or reducing corruption like amending the Official Secrets Act and a Freedom of Information Act. (This portion of his speech is to be found in an earlier video titled: Corruption in Malaysia Some Pertinent Solutions)
Lawlessness is happening in my country. I live in the United States of America, and my country has become systemically corrupt.
