Reeno interviews Ben Cenac (aka Cozmo D of Newcleus) in this short clip from the full 2 hour DVD which is available at www.spazzoid.com.
Newcleus was well known for their hits Destination Earth and Jam on it. It's a very casual interview with Ben occaisionally glancing the football game. This interview was conducted in January of 2004

  • "Jam on it" will forever be tied to the great electro-funk/breakdance era in the eighties, even though from day one it was widely regarded lyrically as preposterously cornball in both concept and delivery. This would be the weaker of the many electro super-hits from back then.

  • Regarding comment of Jam on it being Cornball lyrically, Not sure if you really "get it". You are not quite clear on the genre..but note that back in the day, Jam on it was highly unique and a song all of it's own. Having fun with lyrical songs like Double Dutch Bus was reflective of East Coast life and boosted morale. Musically, and production-wise..it's crystal clear when you hear if and if lyrics were so important in todays rap..they would clean it up audibly and creatively.

  • on a side note:

It was different back then economically and coming from East Coast vs West Coast..different understanding of lifestyles. Music had a more uplifting feeling and created mood hence why some breakdancers still use it NY today!

  • To The "no life" (Will Duhram)...who keeps posting anti-reeno remarks..it must be very embarrassing for you to have to Create a New Account every day...and just keep repasting and reposting the same comment every day...very sad indeed.

  • what an awesome interview!

  • To psiprophet, Yea but "Cornball lyrics" are also the most Creative kind! Preachy lyrics, pop-lyrics, or holier-than-thou lyrics are stale. Personaly i appreciate when a picture is painted in my mind with word's..

  • is there more to this interview? i cant find it anywhere

  • REENO is the bomb yo!

  • Interesting to hear what happened from the musician's side. Thanks for posting!

  • Will I have a quote for you:

"Will will surely die alone, with no friends, non-working synthesizers, and no music produced. He has many problems getting women to give him the time of day, being somewhat of a creepy looking guy, and very pushy."

    -Came directly from "the source".

Why don't you go to his site and post your babbling there! It is irrelevent here on my site. I delete all your comments anyway.
