My memories of living in the Jewish ghetto in London's East End during the 1940's and World War II & shortly thereafter. Your comments are welcome.

  • I had to grow up in Auchswitz. My niece was born in Stepney, we're also Jewish. I moved to London about nine years after WW2, and got a rocky start in Bethnal Green. Boarders who shared our flat called me "Fagin the Jew." My name is Isaac! Have you ever heard of Ikey Solomon? I was named after him for some crazy reason. You know I still make challah bread for shabbos?
