For the last twenty years I've wanted to install solar panels. Finally decided to go for it, besides the fact that the state rebates and tax credits cover most of the expense. It is cool to see the meter spin from the free electricity. The system will cover all my residential electric.

  • Love it! How much did you spend on materials and labor?

  • A little over 50% covered up front by NYSERDA , a 30% federal tax credit and a New York tax credit. I won't know the final total until after tax season. But I'm figuring a 6 or 7 year payback. First electric bill was $13.11 the power companies minimum monthly charge and I have over a 300 KWH credit built up already.
