We've seen a few photos from Dredd, including one that gave a pretty good idea of how Karl Urban would look wearing the helmet that is a core part of the uniform for the title character. Now here's a shot that shows a Judge in full costume riding one of the high-tech Lawmaster bikes used by the Judges in Mega-City One.
Dredd is shooting now in South Africa, with Pete Travis directing Karl Urban as Judge Dredd, Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson and Lena Headey of The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Game of Thrones as Madeline Madrigal, aka Ma-Ma, aka the leader of a gang who runs one of the blocks in Mega-City One. I'm hoping for good things out of this, as the Alex Garland script has some great elements. I'm still not sold on the visuals we've seen, but I'm waiting to see a trailer, to get an indication of how the film will really look after all is said and done.
One good thing about this image is that, while it might just be a stuntman in the suit, the helmet looks better proportioned here than did the one in the early test shot of Karl Urban I linked above. That's a good sign.
DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot -- if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra's revered comic strip.

It looks terrible from top to toe. What a spit in the face of Dredd fans. They wil NEVER get this character right for the screen. Give up Hollywood!

At a guess, they are using practical bikes, and will replace the current wheels (and sections of the bike with the (impractical) comic book versions. There is no way that they'll be using these bikes as they are. These are mopeds.

@Neville6000 Yes,& no.Its great that Dredd is not going to remove the helmet(Or at least see his face),but the suits should've had that iconic pad & eagle,& those Lawmasters dont look 'Meaty' like they should. Its supposed to be a tank on two wheels, not some scooter thats a bit bulgy at the front.. I'm sure the movie will be good regardless though.I remain optimistic,as the makers(& Urban)are fans. But it depends how much influence the studio has too.

DROKK..! That was not so cool looking bike. The Lawmaster is missing at least half a meter back, looks like a scooter! No perp would take Old Stonyface seriously riding on that...
