@dnave21 That happened once to me, too. It was a motor from my 1950's Belco "Jet-Aire" window fan that I have. Except in my case, when I plugged it in after removing charred cardboard from the stator posts, the motor had literally the 4th of July inside the housing! Thankfully, as it is an A/C motor, I was able to get it going again by simply rewinding the stator.
