A fun and easy way to make pillowcases for everyone on your holiday gift list. This tubing technique will hide all those seams.

Fabric requirements: 1/4 yd for sleeve, 3/4 yd for body and 1/8 yd for accent piece.

When the kids were little we gave presents in pillowcases. I figured I spent the same amount of money on gift bags, tissue, and string and it all got thrown away. A pillowcase they kept and used over and over again.

  • I was going to take a class on how to do these. After this tutorial, I don't think I need to take the class. Can't wait to try this!!

  • @molnijaburia24 I make lots of these pillow cases, especially when the kids were little and had birthday parties to go to. They make great gift wrapping, something they can keep instead of a bag that gets thrown away.

    Thanks for watching!

  • i did that but the pillow falls out as all that side is open is there any way you can shorten that part ? so not the entire length is open? thanks

  • @Elementfifth I'm not sure what you are asking, is the pillow case too big? if it is just shorted the length or take a larger seam.

  • Thank you so very much for this video! I am a self taught sewer and this has helped me tremendously!

  • @overallquilter I think they mean the end with the "sleeve" where it is open. There is nothing keeping the pillow from coming out the end you used to slip it into the pillow-case.

  • @overallquilter no if you do it like this the opening si wider as the length of the pillow case - shouldn't be any way to make the opening - so the side where you introduce the pillow into the case smaller ...do I make any sense? so the opening is not open all the way on the pillow case length

  • I seen your beautiful unfinished quilt on the wall behind you and at your into... :) I did notice that you will have to finish your quilt w/ that dreaded "Y" seam or side set triangle. Is it possible for you all to post a tutorial on how to do this?? It would be sooo appreciated. Thank you!! :)
