Le Cube ~ séance les déchirures

Le Cube is an educational tool that I designed for a "Maternelle" (French public Preschool) in Saint-Cloud France in 1994. Le cube was installed in a class for a year and once a week I came into the class to do an activity around le Cube for about an hour with all the children from that class. For this particular "seance with paper" two sides of le cube were covered with paper the two other sides empty. The children were asked to tear up the paper, making them take away & discover through the glass the inside of "le Cube." Their first reaction when they were tearing up the paper was to disregard it! They were then asked to tape it back on the other empty side, in order to do the opposite action; to tape, to add to & and to cover...
