Lyrics:

Things have been tough
Without the dum dum boys
I can't seem to speak
The language
I remember how they
Used to stare at the ground
They looked as if they
Put the whole world
Looked as if they put
the whole world down

The first time I saw
the dum dum boys
I was fascinated
They just stood in front
Of the old drug store
I was most impressed
No one else was impressed
Not at all
And we'd sing
da-da-da-da-da-da
dum dum day
Where are you now my
dum dum boys are you
Alive or dead
Have you left me the last
Of the dum dum daze
Then the sun goes down
And the boys broke down

People said we were negative
They said we'd take but
we would never give
But we'd sing da-da-da
Da-da-da dum dum day
Da-da-da-da-da dum
And hope it would pay
Da-da-da-da it's been
A dumdumdum day
A dum dum day

Now I'm looking for
The dum dum boys
Where are you now
When I need your noise

Now I'm looking for
The dum dum boys
The walls close in and
I need some noise

  • You had to be there. The '60's were BORING~ in Detroit. I mean, there were only kids on the streets. Everybody's dad had a real job. So, we would go to the local drugstore in the summer and just watch. We got bored. We were what you call junior high, and high school. That was the place fight and see the latest BSA, Motoguzzi's, and maybe an Apache or a Norton. They said we would take, but we would never give. They were right.

  • @Megapooper1067 oh yea... Ian... poor Ian... RIP... listening this song...

  • Dum Dums?

    like the lollipops?

  • It's hard not to love Iggy he's the perfect amalgamation of aggressive "idiot" and genius philosopher

  • i am a virgin

  • Thumbs up if Space Invaders/Ian Curtis/Cash Converters/Weetabix/Michael Foot/Farmfoods/The bloke down the road bought you here. I'm only 8 years old so I must be cool as fuck for liking this right? Oh yeah, Insert comment about Justin Bieber or Little Wayne HERE. BORE OFF!

  • AndI thought i was gonna be the only one here that came for Ian ;/

    Damn

  • Ian Curtys escuchaba esta canción cuando se suicidó :/

  • Ian. Ian. Ian. Ian. Ian.

  • People do not know slang. The opening to this song is total Detroit/Ann Arbor slang, and it hit me like a sky crane with a 45 foot I-beam loaded. Wow.
