Ross-on-Wye Fireworks 2009

The Ross Lions annual firework display 2009. This event is held on the Saturday that falls closest to Guy Fawkes night, 5th November and is the biggest fund-raiser for the Ross-on-Wye Lions (Lions International) charity. This year the event took place on Saturday, 7th November in the grounds of the Chase Hotel.

The video is split screen - on the left is a time-lapse, extreme wide angle (fisheye lens) view of the bonfire and display -on the right, a closer video of the fireworks. It was raining heavily during the event, causing me some difficulty keeping the camera lenses dry.

The music is 'Sign of the Times, by local musician, Paul Randell.

Yes it is Mike. The video is cut and slightly speeded up to fit Paul's song. I was quite pleased with the result. The rain on the fisheye lens is very noticeable though. The centre of the fisheye glass pokes out to the front of the lens hood and picks up every rain drop. I was under the shelter of the van but had to keep that camera forward, so that it did not pick up the overhead door.
