  • Don't trust the surgeons! They themselves believe that they are the gods in white. But, in reality most of them are simple butchers!

  • That Dr. Taylor was a quack. I read that he died blind also. That cirurgical instruments resembles torture instruments.

  • That Dr. Taylor was a quack. I read that he died blind also.

  • Where's episode 12, the burial/tribute episode?? Yar!! That's where (I'm quite sure) all the really graet requiem stuff is presented. Maybe we'll see it here soon.

  • Bach is seen with Anna, telling her his children and Anna are important to him. She will not be the wife of a poor man because he could still tune and repair organs and trumpets. She tells him the family doctor has referred a famous english surgeon who will restore his sight or at least improve it. She introduces the surgeon to Bach who after examination tells her Bach has cataracts a musician's malady and he must be operated on immediately. "Do what you will" Bach says "I'm just too tired".

  • With Bach's vision gone, performances in Church had come to a stop.. In March 1750 Bach confided his destiny to John Taylor, an English eye surgeon who operated on him again in April 1750. This weakened Bach considerably. Unknown to Anna Magdelena, this surgeon was well-known in Europe for performing dangerous cataract operations. Here he is seen telling Anna that everything is going to be fine On July 28th 1750 Bach woke up seeing clearly but died that same evening following a stroke.

  • @camposi i know, the doctor was good at getting rid of good composers, evil guy!

but i heard that he actually died of a stroke, do you know anything aboout that? i have no idea how to find out which one is it.

  • In this movie his second wife Anna Maria Wilke looked much better than in the 80tys-Movie "J.S.Bach grosse Geschichten" from east germany.

Aaaaaaargh ........I must shot my eyes when I see how this quack killed his eyes and lately himself - like the same doctor killed G.F. Hande!"

  • To redprriest - BRAVO, BRAVO! Thank you very much for this entire movie. even though it was in French it was very good.

    Regards,

    David
