He is pretty good; but these piece it's to long and in my opinion not very appropriate for these students, after the first minute they will loose the interest on.

This song is rough and anyone who disliked the video isn't all that trombone savvy. Also masterclasses are always fun cause of stuff like this.

I've seen straight horns that are both Medium and Large Shank. There are many professionals who play straight tenors without trigger attachments. The trigger(s) is just a personal preference. along with the size of the mouthpiece. I myself play first trombone parts (Tenor Clef mostly) on a 10.5 Inch bell bass bone with a Monette BT-1 (bass trombone mouthpiece), while it is much easier on a straight horn with a small shank mouthpiece.

It's mostly personal preference. I'm currently a high school student and I prefer to play my smaller bore trombone because I play higher. My friend who plays lower plays his large bore. That's all.

just because they're not f-attachment horns doesn't mean they're small bore.

If those students are in high school, why are they still playing on small bore horns?

They do masterclasses for Jr. SYMS and regular SYMS. That guy should try jazz improv.
