  • hey neil, just clarifying should it be 9 inches from the tip of the cue to the V on the bridge? thanks, james

  • @jimmydoonz roughly james ........yes ..........you can vary it slightly to suit yourself .......but between 9 - 12 inches is about right

  • you need to keep the bridge roughly the same each time ..........if you have the bridge too close this will seriously limit you on power shots ......all cues vary in length as do players .......so in the address position the forearm of the cueing hand points straight down the leg hence the tape to help get the position on a consistant basis

  • Thanks for the video. Very helpful, as always. How would you go about cueing if you are hampered by a ball sitting just where your bridge hand is?

  • @theescher i've done a clip just got to upload it

  • We have got our snooker club back after the new roof has been fitted . My game was rusty after one month away from the baize and I almost did not bother to look at this clip because I thought it was basic stuff. How wrong I was. I was cueing too far from the ball without realising from 12 inches I have shorten it to 9 to 10 inches and have got my cue action much tighter and have started getting some decent breaks again and potting great . thanks again John

  • Hi mate. Do you have any videos on back spin?

  • your clips are quite good .....do a clip on power shots that require a long backswing .......how the fingers open up ...............thts where i face a lot of probs ...cause i open my fingers the wrong way and when shot completes,,,its totally off track

  • @neilmaxman thanks mate!

  • very interesting I'm going to try this. Only thing is a lot of people say to vary the distance you are depending on what shot you are trying to play. A coach once told me if I'm playing a screw shot I need to be closer to the ball is this true?

I've also been told I should hold the cue right at the back end but I noticed where you but the tape is a little further up the cue. Does this make a difference?

    Thanks

  • Can you show me how to you my front hand to cue well please i am having trouble with this and how to play shots wen the object ball is on the cushion thanks palmer

  • @neilmaxman Amazing, That was quick! haha
