Exquisite, thank you for the post.

He can't pronounce the English sound "w"! It's always "v"! "Till" he pronounces like "chill"l What's wrong with your English ears?! You don't want to give masterclasses to this "genius"?! If you want more work listen to PJ's Italian pronunciation e.g. in Sol da te! "Sol da te mia dolci amori questo cori, avra' paci..." This guy can't pronounce at all Italian "e" and "o". He makes them "i" and "u". And you are so fascinated with his empty singing that you just don't care?! You find it "honest"?

I wonder why you always want to work so much on Spanos's performances which are perfect and don't notice at all just awful Philippe Jaroussky's singing in all the aspects?! Do you find his English pronunciation flawless?! Listen to e.g. his "Music for a while". This promoted image whom they artifically made "the best countertenor of the world" can't pronounce English sounds at all! Listen to his "l". For a vail'! He pronounces it like French very soft "l'"! "All your" - like Italian "olio"....

Dear Christine, the majority of Great Britain population pronounce this "and" exactly like "ahnd". Do they all find English difficult?! Perhaps you'll give your distant masterclasses to your compatriots instead?! Spanos's English is perfect! At least, for a person who was not born like you in UK. BTW, I understand his English better than your great Alfred Deller's. But if you want so such to work on somebody's English pronunciation I can channel your attention to the singer who really needs it.

Well done! You got no help at all from the orchestra! "And "still a little too much "Ahnd"
"Shame" also a bit "Shahime" But English is difficult no?

the mike kind of makes it strange... i love that voice though.

the phrases are cut to early...the tensions between soloist and orchestra are different....sorry...

nice... voice... but acoustic is awful and very dry and died... but the voice is nice...thanks
This aria performed by Nicholas is real triumph of barocco. His voice is under control on all registers and his intelligent way of singing just shows his composer-level intellectual standing and lofty vocal standards.Let's forget about his phrasing!

He sounds as though his voice has the power, focus, richness, and clarity of enunciation that would do well on the opera stage. Most countertenors would have difficulty doing so.
