I from NY also, and I hate this place. Nothing to do evening on weekends, you better find something to do because after 1:59 am its over, at that time you won't find anybody around for miles. If it wasn't for my job I wouldn't be here. Anyway after 6 months I will be going back to a real city.

Everyone is passionate about the area they grew up as it is familiar territory. I have visited some northern areas and I wouldn't want to live there as I don't feel the comfort of familiarity. I love Boston and have been back many times, but so good to come home to N.C..Good luck and give this move a chance. One can find good friend anywhere if given the chance.

I've lived in N.c. all my life and still haven't gone everywhere. I do travel a lot. There is so much to do here if one just leaves home and do lots of exploring.

ive been living here in NC my whole life. its a great state but it actualy gets pretty boring. Theres not much to do
