Trent Willaims is one of the best pass blocking tackles available in this year's draft.

He looked great in his first preseason game against the Bills. He was absolutely man handling Aaron Maybin, Maybin may not be pro bowler material but still it's impressive from a rookie to be able to handle an NFL player the way Trent did.

Yer I guess but Shanahan is a proven winner in the "NFL" . Your coach can only get it done in college...

I'm sure Shanahan knows what he is doing. The last LT he draft was also rough around the edges and was deemed a LT but he ended up being the best OL in that draft and probably the best LT in the NFL ( RYAN CLADY) .. I'm sure Sahanan had studied his tapes, he even talk to Bob Stoops.. Trent and Russell will forever be compared. and both these guys will be in a Zone Blocking scheme.we'll see who have the best career mate..

strength will come with time in the gym. what okung will never have that williams does is his natural athletic ability that gives him more upside and makes him more ideal for shanahan's zone blocking scheme. skins made the right choice troll

Trent, congratulations on being the first offensive lineman to be selected in the 2010 NFL Draft. I know that you are excited about playing for the Washington Redskins. I live in South Carolina and the Skins have a big fan base here. In fact, some fans here won't even pull for the Carolina Panthers, saying that the Redskins were here first. Anyway, best of luck. Peace out.

I completely agree that the RB missed his block. He ended up blocking a guy who was already be blocked by the right guard. He should've taken the inside blitzing LB, which would've left Williams on the outside blitzing LB.

I agree. Trent Williams is more versatile. Besides, Okung has flaws, but no one seems to want to talk about that. If didn't have those flaws, he WOULD be a Redskin. Mike Shanahan knows what he is doing. In the 2008 NFL Draft, Jake Long was supposed to be the best OT in that draft. However, Ryan Clady is the best of that class. Jake Long is a Pro-Bowler, but he is not better than Clady. The man set a record of giving up half a sack in 20 games. Not other explanations needed.
