Heard her live a few times, probably one of the most beautiful instruments in the 20th century.. like spun silver live.. recordings don't do her justice...

Absolutely beautiful! Lyrical, dramatic but controlled. This is a sublime performance and a wonderful interpretation. My favourite by a country mile.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the good
Baron is the Swedish baritone Ingvar Wixell.
It looks like him and he has the same lean
Scandinavian sound.

I am a Callas fanatic to the bitter end, but Kiri's performances of Vissi D'Arte are beautiful, powerful (sometimes too powerful) but without a doubt on par with Callas...feel the goosebumps!

I don't know why people get so upset when singers step "outside" of their specialty roles and sound good in others. I thought this was wonderful.
