The Fourmile Canyon Fire threatened the historic town of Gold Hill. Residents and firefighters tell this remarkable story of just how close they came to losing their homes and their history. The story has many heroes to thank and numerous lessons to learn for the next time wildfire threatens our community.

  • At 1:21 is an image captured from a video taken. This home was mine, and I was wondering if there was anyway if I can get that footage.

  • I'm so sorry for all of the loss that folks have endured. My heart goes out to them.

    I am also very grateful that old Gold Hill was spared especially the museum. My Great-great-grandfather was Sheriff in Gold Hill in 1860 to 1862, It's history is very some of the best preserved in Boulder County. The Jain Brothers, Members of my Altona Grange, saved many in Gold Hill in 1894. Thank you all who fought the fire and helped those who live the mountain way.
