Having played with the likes of Phil Coulter, Damien Dempsey, Glen Hansard and Thin Lizzy legends Brian Robertson and Eric Bell, these boys know their music and they know how to play it" Edel Fitzgerald - Cork Evening Standard (Still have this bit up at the top , but have it in red like the other quotes, it's like a bookend if you get me) In August of 2009 with a shared love of Funk,Rock,Soul and Jazz Anthony Stuart(drums), Tom Downey(Guitar) and Matthew Wilson(vox) came together to form the Dead Presidents. In 2010 this noisy little trio expanded to seven with the addition of Joe Mcquillan on bass and the Brassholes otherwise known as Jenny Putt(trumpet), james Doherty (trombone)and matt houston(Sax). AS OF 2011 with a years hard playing behind them the Dead Presidents have become one of the funkiest live bands out there; They have a groove that could fill any pocket, a vocal that belongs on a best of Motown compilation, alongside a guitar sound that borders on the spiritual. Last and by no means least is a brass section that would make the late James Brown 'The Godfather of Soul' sit bolt upright in his funeral casket. In short, The Dead Presidents are a brass, heavy Funk Rock Powerhouse . For a band that's in its relative infancy their unique brand of uplifting and hook laden funk has very quickly cemented themselves as a band to see. Dead Presidents are a band you can't afford to miss in 2011.
