On November 19, 2006, Mr. Sonny Rollins met with a group of 4 talented young sax players in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mikayla Gilbreath (a 13 year-old alto player) was honored to be among that group. In this video, Mr. Rollins views a video of Mikayla playing his version of "Blue Room," which Mikayla recorded as a tribute to him. This is the video of Mr. Rollins watching that performance, and reacting to it. Mikayla is standing just to the left of, and slightly behind, Mr. Rollins.
The video that Mr. Rollins was watching is available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VP0H821-RA
Unfortunately, the lighting in the room was dim and the resulting video is quite dark as well - BUT WELL WORTH WATCHING.
