  • I was told Dick Moroso was given an option to keep it open. Who knows? I had a lot of good times there. Won Track Championships in 90 and 92 before it closed 12/1992

  • Damn shame its gone , old Florida gone.

  • Was that the drag strip?I left Florida back in 81 looks like thing's went too hell.

  • Good memories. I ran a white 77 Camaro Z-28 in street and the high school class. Went to the E.T. final in Atlanta then Gainsville. My dad ran super pro in a corvette called the dough boy. Zlatkin. First ran a Yamaha dirtbike at 13 down the track. I really miss this place. Memories as a kid.

  • Thank you for posting these videos. "Saturday Night, Under The Lights!" was the place to be back in the late 60's and early 70's. The funny cars, the top fuel dragsters and the exhibition wheelstanders like "Hurst Hemi Under Glass" and "The Little Red Wagon". They were all there. So were my dad and I. Thanks for the memories!

  • So what happened in '91 Dwayne?

  • I totally remember you guys too!!!

  • Yes lots of memories. I would go there a during the 60's and 70's. Does anybody remember a silver 55 Chevy named The Man. He later raced a, almost brand new, 69 Camaro, also silver and called The Man. Or maybe, Buzzard, Hill and O'Connell and there black 57 Chevy. They later changed to a black 62 Corvette. One of the best looking cars ever. Black with gold rims, gold velocity stacks and gold trim.

  • Man, the memories. I spent a large chunk of my youth at the old "sport". So many amazing concerts and great times partying in the parkinglot or what we use to call "the dust bowl".

  • as far as i can remember.... "the doctor of engineology" ernie mcdaniels moved up north somewhere....

  • wow,. lots of racing memories from the early 80's...

is ernie mcdaniels shop still open in davie ?

  • Raced there in early 80s had a chevelle ran 13.30s went to Coral Springs High School.Brings back memories.Great video.Seen many concerts at sportatorium Rush when they tear gassed it was my last concert there.

  • I use to race there all the time back in the 80's & 90's. Dwayne i remember you & your dad also,i had the black camaro called "the killer mouse". How is your dad doing? I know at that time your dads nova was about the baddest ride around, what ever happened to that car? Do you know if it is still around after all these years? Im sure your dad is glad to be retired, does he miss the chassis business? Its a bummer to see these videos of the track torn down,we had a blast there! R.I.P. M-H-S

  • I used to drag race there in the late 70s, Thank you for the memories
