1st of the two rounds on the Rettenbachgletscher. It was very bad weather and the ground was very slippery...
The dark surface was pure ice with fresh snow on it. The machine, that goes "Bing" was the emergency brake, because the Bimmer had heavy understeer in tight corners. Under these weather conditions, it terribly lacked accelerating out of corners, but the M5 e34 was good and well handling in fast passages. Anyway, after that, I decided to try a real Mitsubishi Rallye Evo to see what I could do with more adequate equipment.

Yeah E34 is a very predictable car to handle. Very well balanced, but on those condition you can't argue that 4 whell traction is better than two.
Anyway nice to see an E34 M5 being pushed especially in that weather.

Yes, definitely... No idea, what was under the massive ice? All the black parts are no tarmac, but pure ice, it was slipery like hell. The Bimmer had 235" Pirelli wintertyres at the original wheels (normally 225 wintertyres recommended) and no additional weight in the trunk. So at least, I was happy, to get the thing moving fast anyway at that mountain plain. In a second run which can also be viewed here, the M5 outperforms the 4x4 cars...
