...not mentioned ANYWHERE in the song, this was the epithet used to describe the character played by Tony Booth - later, the father of British Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife - in the British TV series, "Till Death Us Do Part" (later done in America as "All In The Family"). Randy means aroused - a Scouse is a Liverpudlian (person from Liverpool) and Git is short for illegitimate. And so the title was CHANGED in Britain to "Alternate Title" - ironic, given only British people would UNDERSTAND the expression!

correct In his autobiography Micky said the lyrics to this song are just his observations of his first trip to England, Beatles, The Queen, His Future Wife, he also said Mama Cass but I have yet to find where.
Micky loved England and after the Monkees was over he ended up living there and becoming a pretty succesful Television director and producer during the 70s..
Great Book worth the read

Yeah, I kind of thought so too, but he never said where in his book, its funny he broke down alot versus but all he said is he" threw Mama Cass in". I had also always thought it was the Beatles party since I had read they threw them one, but Micky said it was Prince Charles 18th Birthday and it was a big deal. He also wrote of alot of 1 on 1 time spent with just Paul at his house watching promo films and getting high. I would recomend Mickys book Im A Believer, It a great read.

I want to thank my parents. They showed me the Monkees. I may be a '90's kid but I will always love the '60's music more than any of this nowadays trash.

In a later interview he again said it was a tablecloth, but one that Davy had actually bought. He stole it off Davy's table because it looked cool, cut the hole in it and wore it. Davy thought it was too funny, so he didn't get mad but it did end up being a running joke between them, supposedly, for awhile.

Davy was actually the better/best drummer, but he was too short to be seen when sitting behind the kit, and since he was cast as "the heart throb" he ended up as the front man, even though Micky had the best voice... Remember, they weren't supposed to be a "real band": they just happened to meld into one over Don Kirshner's objections.
