DECEMBER 2010 UPDATE: CONGRATS TO SHEILA REYNOLDS, SEPPE'S WONDERFUL NEW MOM!
Original posting: Seppe (aka "Cadenza"). In this video, Seppe had just started under saddle (summer 2008). He is a lovely, easy young horse, 3-1/2 years old in this video, incredibly responsive and soft in the hands, a beautiful mover, with a wonderful sense of rhythm, and very sensible (my third day up on his back - the third time he'd ever been ridden, I loaded him into the trailer, took him to the beach, and we went for a gallop and a splash in the waves!). Instead of arena work, I will continue to trail ride him occasionally until he is four, building his confidence, sensitivity, and enjoyment of light, easy riding. That's about it. At four I'll officially begin his dressage schooling. Here, we took him into our training arenas to make this video. At four I'll begin taking up some gentle contact and start putting him together. We imported Cadenza from Holland as a weanling His registered name is Seppe Van't Molenhuis. His sire is Fetse 349. In Holland, at his official breed Keuring, he earned the coveted First Premium stamp on his registration papers, and was subsequently named Grand Champion Young Horse of that entire Keuring.

  • Catherine-You are so good with the horses! You can really tell how much the horse is comfortable and responds to you! So many trainers are only interested in pulling the head in and letting the hiney trail behind! It is amazing how well he is doing just 1 day in the arena!
