A 5-pin machine that was installed in 1961 at this bowling alley. They still run like a dream.

  • Shocking how much rube goldberg stuff it takes to simply take a pin and move it from horizontal to vertical.

  • OMG i still work in a five pin bowling center that is freefall and we have double diamond machines as well. They were installed in 1957! These babies are built like tanks, they will last for at least a good 40 years. Aw man its great to see that others places still have these ancient beauties.

  • Where do you find parts for this pig?

  • The freefall places in Edm were: Odeon Bowl, Scona, Winsor, and I think Coral at one point.

  • Talk about free-fall setters on the brain!

I had a dream of bowling on AMF 8290-5-pin version, lol

  • the way it brings the pins back up after it has been knocked down i similar to the brunswick GS series

  • this kind of setter was a only around in the early 60's to late 70's. Here is something with this setter the lane would have an extra board on the lane to fit the setter.

  • is that hard to make like that machine??

  • im going to take a lucky guess..canadian five pin ehh?

  • learning to fix jams on these is a pain in the ass. but i love bowling in a freefall house.
