I still need to see how the leds are implemented in large led backlight panels, if you happen to find a broken one it will be damn interesting to autopsy.

@brucezweitausendneun yeh at more cost than the TV is worth

@Aussie50 Contact the Panasonic Service. The can fix this. They just have to change one part of the tv.

G'day folks! 2 things I like about your video's @Aussie50, Them Plasma's, I fixed mine!!! £30 for 2 buffer boards.. better option than mucking about with them SMT IC's. and that old smoky 4-cylinder Chrysler. As you can see from my vid's, I've gorra 3-cyclinder 85hp in need of some £ to fix after I staved it of oil and seized one cylinder.. (oops)

@Aussie50 That's funny because I have a old Micronta multimeter very similar to that, almost identical. That's the only reason I noticed it. They do seem to hold up!

@260830107 In my experience, yes. Another bonus is that LCD's are all low-voltage electronics, with the exception of the PSU,and CCFL backlights.

At least it would work in the vacuum of space. you should donate it to NASA :P

is it true that lcd tvs have are easier to fix than plasma?

Low pressure air could work in some degree as ionized Nitrogen can generate UV for the phosphor in there, but i guess eventually air (and Nitrogen Dioxide that the plasma converts air into) would react with the materials used in the screen panel and ultimately destroys it.
Sounds like a ccfl lamp has broken and the high voltage from the lamp inverter is arching to ground somewhere.

I have A Question for you sir i have a LCD 30 tv it does not have any sound can i use it but run it through my stereo system ?

@polojize yeah you can take the AV leads from your DVD and split audio off to a amp, and video to the panel.
I rarely do not do that, most TV's have shit speakers anyway. same with PC, it goes into twin transistor amps and big speakers.
