Here we are in Kingston to see the historic first run of the Holiday Train on the Catskill Mountain Railroad. The crew over at the CMRR have worked tirelessly to make this event happen by clearing the tracks, upgrading the line, etc, and it looks great. Here, we see CMRR's RS1 401 pulling an old side dump car, an open air platform car filled with throngs of happy riders, and CMRR caboose 675 "Serving The Esopus Valley". This is certainly a happy occasion for the railroad, which has come very far in its quest to bring service back to Kingston. I know it is a shameless plug, but if you would like to see the CMRR and all it has to offer, please refer to their website at http://www.catskillmtrailroad.com/. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on December 6th, 2008.

this was all made possible by the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who put in over 10,000 hours of manpower to bring this piece of historic rail back to life! THANK YOU CMRR Volunteers...

The crappy weather kept me away, I do plan on going, AND riding, once a nice day comes along.
Thanks for showing me what to expect.
