"Beautiful Dreamer" for guitar

The American composer Stephen Foster lived only 38 years, and this was the last song he composed, written in 1864, the year he died, according to Wikipedia. This arrangement is in the book "Fingerpicking Classics, volume 1" by Jason Waldron. (has notes and tablature) I changed just a few notes in the arrangement.

I'm not sure if my video response went thru...seems my older videos don't go back far enough to "use selected video"...I tried to paste it.

One tip I think might help you is... try NOT looking back at your fingers when your reading the music, have faith in your fingering and your "mind's eye" ...it will help keep it smooth.  I like your rendition. Post more of Jason's tunes...I love'em. I have all 20 songs from "Vol One" book posted and a couple from vol 2.

@van1976 Thanks for your comment, Van. You're probably right about not looking back at the fingers, but

most of my videos are done at a "practice level" I guess, and at my age, I'm happy if the piece sounds right to me - I'm not a performer - just a happy amateur. I'm happy if I hit the right notes and if the final result sounds good. That's what's most important to me. But thanks for the tip.

@philipglaser Hello Philip...Some guitar teachers in the past told me (I did the same thing--watching my fingers) about not watching my fingers when reading music, they told me it's a bad habit, so I'm just passing that "guitar tip" on. I know how hard guitar playing can be, so not watching your fingers makes it easier--really. Keep up the good work and have FUN.
