Flying UAV's at the farm - AttoPilot, ArduCopter, catapults and tracking antennas :D

Testing out my tracking antenna today, slapped a 200mw 5.8ghz video system on the flying wing and a 14db patch onto the tracker. Its all comming together now...

Paul tried out his catapult which worked fantastic but after we left he had an incident and wrote it off his wing :(
Im sure the next one will be ready to maiden very soon.

All the ArduCopter needs now is a wig and some sunnies... ;)

@ktoschris I know OF it, if you google "frequency calculator" you will find some websites to help you get the right length on your antennas. Ideally you would make the antenna then have it tested and modified to hit the exact frequency you want. The higher frequency you go the shorter and more difficult to get the right length (5.8ghz @ full wave is 51.724mm).

@ktoschris You "CAN" but your video would have crazy interference and be useless, probably would loose some range with your 2.4ghz radio too. Imagine someone yelling out commands to you across the park then another guy steps in and starts yelling in your ear - makes the commands harder to hear - same sorta thing basically.

@joogsiethequaker can i use a 2.4 tx rx for a plane and a 2.4 fpv system? cuz i know i cant fly 2 planes at the same ghz. at one time..??

@TheMrmujid ... Why have a Car when you can walk... Its all about either Lazyness ( Which i highly doubt they are ) or they just wanted to make it a little more fun.
