Thanks to all of the clothing stores from which I purchase the clothes that I wear in these videos. Thanks to Modcloth.com for making pocket-watches.

  • Hi Mary! Really liked your rant. In fact, I liked it so much, I imbedded it in a recent blog post. I'll share the link as soon as it goes live. People give me a hard time as an anthropologist for having similar views. I frequently get told I over analyze everything, and just need to sit back and enjoy. Glad to see I'm not the only one who is concerned about the current state of storytelling. Keep up the interesting posts.

  • @spartan06 Well then I can respect Abrahms, because he knew the two would be better separate. A lot of people do disagree with me, but I'm very, very picky about movies. I'll check out the movie sometime. I need to get a Netflix account. =] Thanks for watching my videos and giving me feedback. =]

  • @spartan06 I loved Super 8 because for a summer blockbuster it actually had story unlike Pirates and the upcoming Transformers. I was though disappointed by the alien. I thought it would have been better if they used something more humanoid. I recently saw a really good film on Netflix called Flipped. Check it out i think you would love it. I did. Let me know what you think. As for the outfits the last 3 are MINT(lol Super 8). I really like your style.

  • I agree with you completely but in Super 8's defense it really did start off as a film with story telling. The base of the film had always been the story of these kids and the struggles they had as kids and how they used film making as an escape from those struggles but studios felt that such story would lack interest form the general audience so they denied JJ Abrahms. He then pitched another idea to Spielberg about an alien and eventually Spielberg was the one who told him to combine the two.
