On Feb 4, 2009, I rode the afternoon passenger train from Colon to Panama City. Video is near the Pedro Miguel locks. 48 mile track follows the Panama Canal. We met a freight in the siding. All freight is intermodal container traffic. The train is bracketed by EMD F40 locomotives so it doesn't have to be turned. It does one roundtrip each weekday. Leaves Panama City in the morning each day to Colon and returns in the afternoon. Excellent equipment! Great interiors. Great dome. Love the extra large observation platforms on the coaches.
