  • @spikeri812 Had he not been gelded he would never have raced or perhaps passed on bad traits to his offspring. His bloodline was coming out of fashion and he was a notoriously nutty horse who did a lot of crazy things during his career. He was a great race horse but not a nice horse to work with. He often ran off the track and did a lot of dangerous things. He may have passed that trait down to his offspring. The breed is better remembering him this way.

  • @in4freedom Seatrain -- he retired at 12 and spent the rest of his life at Perretti farm in NJ. He died in 2005 at the ripe old age of 33.

  • How old was Seatrain when he retired? Did he go to a good home?

  • BRETS CHAMP was clearly lame.

  • i was one of the nuts on a cold dec. day watching history as SEATRAIN made his final debut in a 20 clm. waving bye- bye. there was only 15 fans there. now there would be me and the photographer. the FANS are gone !

  • shame even though some of the great geldings like seatrain was gelded, why can't they freeze some sperm. just in case the gelding of a horse is the answer to make him a great. imagine a couple of three test tubes frozen in ice 'just in case'. there were many geldings that were runts, until they got cut, imagine rambling willie and so on. freeze a tube even if he's a yearling brat!

  • my dad, Mike Wellman has passed away.

  • Its the LBJ dumbass ..50,000 people are there ...would u prefer he whisper?

  • I agree. He is way over the top. Screaming at the top of his lungs doesn't make the race more exciting.

  • my dad's first race orse was outa hanover...cant remember her name...my dad became a chamipionship driver, breeder and trainer!
