My whole point of that whole speil was to point out that all along I was in fact fairly intelligent. I had found out I scored 131 prior to this change after my parents had agreed to let my teachers release my I.Q. scores.
It's kinda sad to think that I was pushed aside because I wasn't willing to learn within their system and placed into special classes so the school system could continue earning their status-quo from government funding.

My guidence counselor had told me I would need to be placed in special classes because my grades were all poor. I quickly started to study and my grades went from all F's to all A's.
In fact it was so dramatic some of my teachers started giving away prizes to students who make the most change to improving their grades of the following semester.

I remember taking an I.Q. test every other year through school. I was always in "special" classes, mostly because I didn't find studying or the subjects they wanted me to study in school interesting. Later down the road in High school I made sure to do just enough not be placed in these classes again.
During my Junior year I got involved in drugs and a little more rebellion than I would like to go into detail about. ANYWAYS! My grades started to slip dramatically from C's to all F's.
Shejn1 gets it -- its not about IQ and it's not about memorizing.
It's about the bias on these tests.
If you have a below than average IQ (ie less than 100) it's worth your while just guessing on a multiple choice IQ test -- chances are you'll be rewarded with a better score.
I took the test 4 times and scored between 103 and 117. All 4 scores were above average IQ.
One of the few times in life that not paying attention pays off!
