CLICK THE VIDEO BELOW THAT IS ATTACHED FOR THIS ONE ISN'T WORKING....From Melissa's 1981 concert. She sounds a bit horse at first for she's been singing for over an hour at this point...but once she gets going, she belts it out with emotion like no one else can! The song was written by the late Peter Allen. His father died while the circus was in town. The CEO of Arista, Clive Davis, wanted Melissa to belt out the song while she wanted it to be a quieter ballad. Clive won the argument and it became Melissa's signature song. If you see her live today she sings it more softly and emotionally. Personally, I like this "louder" version best.
