Kaye Cloud has Dupuytren's disease. Dr. David Kline uses a simple needle procedure to "fray" the cords that cause her hand to curl. For more video and multimedia, go to IdahoStatesman.com.
I have had this procedure performed by Dr. Kline twice now, and I'm on my way (Monday the 28th, 2009) to have it performed again. It is virtually pain free, the immediate release of the tension in my had is incredible. Even though it gradually returns, I get about 2 years of relief. I would recommend NA to anyone with dupuytren's. Dr. Kline and his staff are first rate. Thanks Doc.
I have this problem and it is slowly worsening. I have really been worried ablut the surgical procedure of the past and the slow recovery time. As this is sort of an orphan disease I am especially happy this procedure is becoming widely available. This was a very helpful video.
I'm trying to get this procedure done. I'm with Kaiser and the LA Surgeon was not familiar with the procedure.... and I'm trying to refer out to the Marin Co Doc or to Dr. Prosper Benhaim at UCLA... yes I agree with dhimes3... I looked at the big Z Scar and the cut tendon that is the traditional procedure for this DC and I'd much rather have the NA Procedure... I'm a Sax Player and My hand dexterity is crucial to me...
Well. I had the same procedure Dec 2007 in Marin Co. Ca.....little office procedure....the cord went away...and the tightness was gone...I hear that it comes back but it hasn't so far...and if it does I'll go in and let them scramble it again ..no big deal...really no recovery!!!..the options is a long z shaped incision running from palm to mid finger...no thanx!!
i am very curius to know how was the recuperation of this proceedure and if the results remain the same after a certain time. My mother has it and we are investigating a little. thank you.
Thanks you so much for sharing this video.
