This exhibit left me with a feeling of great pride for the Second life Group that put this together. It's really the first time I saw this level of visual imagery quality with objects in this virtual world.

I really saw the 3D effect there and the interaction for the viewer that was provided was very well done.

They are trying to move towards this kind of application for this platform and I finally got to see a display of their vision.

There are quit a few good exhibits going on in Second Life now but this ones the best 3D, interactive one that really demonstrates how in the future virtual worlds like SL can be applied to so many other subjects either it be history, in the medical field or in the classroom.

They did a great job. I placed of course my little avatar in there so you could see the scale of an avatar vs objects in the environment.

What they did was no easy task so If your in Second life do a search for King Tut and the information there will lead you to the exhibit. Have fun!

Filmed & Edited by Sophia Yates 2009

I had originally filmed this April 30th and went back to find the interactive rezzable artifacts. That really made it interesting. I can see this being applied to possibly exploring the human body. Still amazed at the 3D quality! Bravo!

  • Thank you s much rhackathorn I hope the video does inspire people to visit the exhibit but i think the exhibit is going to do more too. If enough people see what is possible you never know what may blossom from this. I'd like to see other museums take advantage of this technology.

  • Super job, Sophia! It really conveys the feeling of the King Tut exhibit. I participated in the beta review, not knowing what to expect. And I was blown away with the quality and scale of this SL build. I hope that your video will inspire many others to visit and ponder this exhibit. Richard
