WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY [HQ]!!!

PART 2:

Today, 2/3/2010, Sam and I headed over to Rick's place to run our trains around his HUGE HO Scale Layout inside his shop. I needed to "break-in" my NEW MTH Norfolk Southern SD70M-2 so I figured this would be awesome to figure out any kinks or problems with it. Well I soon discovered that my rear Automatic Coupler wouldn't "hook" to any cars I was forced to run my SD70M-2 Long Hood Forward "LHF". But hey who cares? That's how we Southern boys run 'em! And not to mention I have rear operating Ditch Lights!

Consist on the Second Train near the end:

Alright let me know how that goes b/c I had callled them once already since mine was missing a Cab Window Shade and they want a copy of a reciept and garbage...way more complicated to deal with than Athearn...

Guys, the rear coupler does work you just need to hit the cars hard eneough. Check out MonsterRailroad's channel for how he fixed is if its really that big of a deal to you.

love the layout. is it a point to point layout? Do you mainly buy athearn or do you also buy atlas and kato?

From what I hear the MTH sound units are crap. They only consist with other MTH units and theyb tend to shut down and act funny. If it's only the couplers that are giving you problems count yourself lucky.

Yea, I got rid of my MTH SD70 because of the problems I had. The couplers would work about half the time. I also had problems with the light's at times. I returned it to the hobby shop within a week of purchasing it. I only buy Athearn now!
