Menuett II from Bach Cello Suite # 1 on my EAB

not so good take on my Dean electric acoustic bass, tuned EADGC.

Not plugged in at all- should give you a good sense of the instrument if you're considering buying one (best $190 I EVER SPENT!!!)

What's that? This is from Suite # 1 in G Major. Oh right, yeah, this video starts with the Menuett 2, which has the nice minor vibe for a bit before a big return to the major.

I think I will delete this vid though, because the nickel strings sound pretty bad. Please check almost all my other videos with the phosphorbronze strings, sounds so much better.

how does tuning work on a 5 string? i always thought they were tuned B-E-A-D-G...did you restring it for E-A-D-G-C?

hey there, yeah, they ship BEADG, but I restrung with a high C right away, first using nickel roundwound .030's that I get in bulk from musiciansfriend, then I switched to the Thomastik phosphorbronze, because they sound so good. I didn't change the nut or anything.

Thanks, take a listen to some of my other videos, this is probably one of my worst. In fact, I'd probably like to remove it. Notice too how much better the Thomastic phosphorbronze strings sound.

Jorgasca--thanks for your feedback. you're right E-C. I'm tuning that way for all 3 suites I've done so far.

Bignass04--thanks for your feedback too. Re, fret noise, not to blame my tools like a clumsy carpenter might, but man, I got this pair of phosphorbronze wound nylon strings from Thomastik-Infeld, they are really interesting (and quite expensive!). They have an elastic-type quality that you have to feel to believe. If you play an EAB, try them. They seem to make a lot less fret noise.

It sounds really good. I think if you work on your chops to get that buzz out of some of the notes, it'll sound great.
