The point is every tax-paying American should not be forced to pay for abortions. If there are those who support paying for abortions... they should start a charity funding abortion, but don't force us all to pay for it!

The idea that pregnancy is a health issue is ridiculous.

It's not a disease or an injury, as a matter of fact it's one of the most basic and natural things that happens to the human body.

Getting an abortion is something you want, not something you need.

That's like wanting the government to pay for plastic surgery, or a massage.

Listen, the pro choice people already have their way with the law, but since so many of us believe abortion is murder, can you at least not make us pay for it?

The people who strongly object to abortion under any circumstances should think long and hard about how this contradicts with their other views; namely minorities and high crime pointing out that economists make arguments that the crime waves of the 70's and early 80's especially in urban settings have improved dramatically because --- hate to say it --- because minorities have funded abortion. I would gladly pay taxes to fund an abortion because it is far cheaper than to pay for its medicaid.

Get off womens right and that include their health care rights. If you don't like abortions, don't have one but like you, let the rest of the country make up their own minds on this issue! Health care includes insurance and aid when needed, which should include all health issues. So stop turning this country into the old USSR which told their citizans what they could and could not do.

It's crazy to keep something you can't afford to keep? If you can't afford to have and look after a child then that child will suffer. Children suffer all over the world because their parents cannot afford to care for them. Try living hand to mouth. Try having a baby when you're already having to decide between heating your home and feeding yourself. I would rather end the suffering before it begins.

Did you know that 20% of fertilized eggs naturally abort out of the womb without the mother even knowing? This, of course, is long before cell division begets anything resembling a mammal.

In addition, there are a host of medical reasons why one would abort a pregnancy. ectopic pregnancy, for example. Kills both the mother and infant, if left to term.
