damn i want to work on something similar but i want a blue display instead..whered you get your display?

In a local radiostore...
But this one isn't bright enough: very hard to see outdoors.
So you first should be shure display you select is bright enough to see under daylight.

Sorry, the project is on hold.
After some tests I noticed opto-sensor doesn't work on sunlight (indirect!), LED display isn't bright enough too...

wow if u made some minor improvements like placing it on the side so u can use ironsights and polish the outlooks an bit i bet the airsoft community would buy these at like 100$ an piece

But it isn't blocking the iron sights!!!!!
The top of device is just below rear sight.

It uses PIC 12f675 microcontroller. Two 8-bit shift registers connected to led displays for indication, opto-sensor at the muzzle for detecting shots, powered from main battery using 5v voltage regulator... No instructions yet.
