@steelgreenhorn Actually, the majority did want video, but there were a couple of "heavy hitters" that said they would not play if there was a video camera anywhere during the entire show. They carried enough weight to get it stopped.
It is sad. Young pickers need to hear the legends. That is why I do what I do. No other reason.
Take care,
Bill

@Steelpicker Why is it that the majority do not want to be on video? I have gone to some of the major shows and see no video camera in sight. How else will the memory of these giants of the PSG be remembered? The newer players like myself long to know about the greats that have paved the way before us.

@Steelpicker Bill, although Jeff may not have been fond of you recording these shows they are going to be THE archive of all the greatest steel players in the world.
In the future when we have all gone, these videos will show who came before, also it is your videos that have let the rest of the world SEE all these players as opposed to just hearing them on audio LPs CDs which is also thanks to Youtube.
Obvious words I know but basically meaning thank you to all who allow these videos.
Bill - you have single-handedly preserved the greatest steel players of all time with your relentless video and audio work... anyone that has every sat behind of steel owes you a debt of gratitude!!
to see these two pioneers playing the work of another pioneer - well, it just warms the heart and soul... thank you.
may John and Jeff RIP - we miss your work and your friendship!

@bossman22408 Thank you for the kind words. I am just grateful that I was able to be a part of the history of this great instrument. More than that, I am the most grateful that I was and am friends with most of the greats. I am truly humbled.
