Here we show some examples of how Flex-Tec anti-shatter coating works for protecting glass art from shattering due to impact. The glass will hold together after breaking from impact. The coating stays clear on the glass and is UV stabilized. Pricing and availability will be listed on http://www.hisglassworks.com by Mid-May.

  • While this is pretty convincing footage, I have a couple questions? What caliber was the gun and how thick was the glass? Don't get me wrong I don't disbelieve you I just want to know what to expect. I have a plan to crackle finish a blown piece and if this would work i might purposely tap it to put spider cracks in it.

  • It was a .45 automatic with regular 1/8 inch window glass. Nothing too special.

Now, the Flex-Tec will hold pieces together that have been broken, but the small bits and pieces will eventually start coming out. We've coated some pieces on both sides and intentionally broken them for effect and it seems to work well though.
