I think this aria works very well in this setting too plus the pianist is incredible. The text is very intimate so it works just as well here as it does in the opera house. He sounds great!! =D

Bjoerling had more Slavic steel in his voice, however Bezcala indeed could be the legitimate successor to Wunderlich who tragically left us too soon. I hear a lot of Fritz in this tenor's voice.

@me148 I saw them, my first met experience, it was AMAZING.

*sighs dreamily* I recently went to the opera for the first time, and he was Rodolfo in San Diego. : )
I prefer an orchestra to the piano, but this is still lovely. Hearing this brings me back to that amazing night. Hee hee!

pubbico schifoso..si meritava una standing ovation altro che questo freddo applauso..

Extraordinary voice. People and place incorrect. He belongs to a differente ambiance where he can be really appreciated.

Why isn't there a standing ovation...?? He certainly deserves it. Wow !
Legato, high C, perfect diction , it's all there...

Here is the voice for which we have all been waiting. Fine musicianship, solid technique, fresh , clean sound with excellent diction.
Above all else, Mr Beczala applies intellect, he sings within his personal limits, which he has taken the trouble to explore and identify. I also can hear Jussi in his voice, but he is not attempting to copy in any way, it is just a similarity in tone and quality, after all, Bjoerling was a lyric tenor of non Italian origin, just as Mr Beczala is.
It seems, this man could be a real successor of Fritz Wunderlich - the first after 50 years! Mr. Beczala is a fantastic tenor!
