@888925AA You're right.
To anyone who's still having trouble with their HP printer ink cartridge compatibility (Officejet 4500 for me specifically), it's because of this. I refilled my black ink earlier and the printer did not recognize it; it pisses me off to admit this, but the only way to solve this problem is to by a new HP ink cartridge. I guess that's why HP is on top...

I found out that HP sends devices in their updates to mess up your printing of material on their HP printers if you use A ink fill place other than their own such as Rapid Refill. I am an educator and it is important that I reduce my costs to exist. Reducing the price of the cartridges helps me to do so. HP sells their printers cheap so that they can make their profit off cartridges. I consider this invasion of privacy as well as unethical behavior of HP. Can we say "greed".

Thanks, cleaning the contacts fixed my problem on an HP Photosmart C4480, which seems to have a very similar (if not identical) print mechanism.

Amazing how simple it can be to communicate with people and have them understand a certain video, you made my day.

Thank you for your video instructions. You are a genius!! I cleaned the cartridges as you instructed and the error message went away (yeah!) and I was able to use my printer again!

omg..
Didn't work for me as the message keeps coming back and I am very disappointed in HP.
How to fix an incompatible print cartridge message?
Go and buy a new Epson printer is my recommendation. Never HP again!
