Nice Eddie Harris vibe to this (Freedom Jazz Dance). Mr Willis was one of pianist Kenny Kirkland's cited influences. :-)

Mr Willis played in Blood Sweat and Tears, at least on an album I found: "New blood", the one with the peacock. Nice jazz-rock-funk tracks, and the superb cover of Mr Hancock's "Maiden voyage". Give it a try!
