Officials in Houston say residents in areas under evacuation orders should leave as Hurricane Ike approaches. They say highways are clear, so there is no reason people cannot get to higher ground. (Sept. 12)
@s3xypie Nothing to apologize for! I figured I'd just educate a bit. :) I kind of thought your comment was funny! The interpreter in question is my late boss and she IS pretty over the top with her dramatic sign language sometimes. ;)
@GlorianaBanana To be honest, I don't remember making that comment or even watching this video. That was three years ago, but that comment is out of character for both me now and for me in the past. I agree with all your points, and don't know what that comment was supposed to be meaning to say. In general I tend not to comment too much on things, and I'm wondering if someone else accidentally used my account to say that here.
@s3xypie That's the nature of American Sign Language - very expressive, in ways that folks who don't use it might find a little...intense. :) The interpreter was conveying the message very well.
And really, when you're translating such a serious life-and-death matter as this for people who otherwise might not get the message - there's no way to take your job TOO seriously. :)

In any case, sorry about that.

Does anybody else think that the sign language translator was taking her job way too seriously?
