Good catch, but I almost never use a right glove when mig welding. I really should as you say.

Don't worry, everyone in that room sells welding supplies and knows not to look directly at the arc.

why would you use pulse? in the flat position, standard spray transfer is better.

Not on thin plate. Spray transfer is too hot alone. Besides you get a better bead appearance with pulse. If you have a twin pulse machine it appears as if you TIG welded it.
