The aluminum guitar in this video is a Taylor T5 reproduced by a NextEngine scanner and machined by a Fadal VMC 6030. The CAM toolpath was created from the CAD model in one afternoon. The demonstration at WESTEC 2008 in Los Angeles, Ca was assisted by a Tri-Tech 5-axis spindle attachment and shows how a guitar prototype can be reverse engineered for production in a matter of hours instead of weeks.
