OTTO is a new musical instrument for beat-slicing, the technique that allows to create complex and variegated rhythm sections by using just one rhythmic audio sample, cutting it into little pieces and rearranging them in time. OTTO provides a hardware solution with a strong visual feedback, to allow the musician to control the audio sample as if it was in his hands.

  • Duddeee! I so want one of these! Beats using noob programs on the computer when you can just use the OTTO. Damn, that's cool shit.

  • Very very nice :)

  • holy...fucking..shit.

I've been drudging along my CE degree completely uninspired. This pumps me UP. I'm gonna keep working until I can figure out how to make something as cool as that.

  • Okay, I know I'm not the only one noticing how this is like a circular Tenori-On. Not to say that it's a bad thing, seems like a fun new way of sequencing.

  • Really cool device. The finish looks pretty damn nice and ....soft. Anyways, I was wondering if you could give everyone a break down on how to use the device and explain the hand techniques that you use. Also, all the different buttons and what they do.

    Great job.

  • Truly inspiring!!
