"Croak voiced Daleks" is how Dennis Potter in his speech to the 1993 Edinburgh Television Festival describes John Birt and Marmaduke Hussey. In this Right to Reply Special, Potter joins other TV figures of the time to discuss the aftermath of his speech.

  • Loving the AD Break :)

  • This is pathetic. It is a whinge, for the right of tea drinking communists to avoid TV that reflects or indeed, respects the viewer, but seeks to lecture them. It is an exercise in ernest tokenism: we've had a negro, a midget and Esther Rantzen, all endorsing the idea that the BBC is a location for TV without thought or concern for anyone who is not interested in being endlessly "challenged" by Lesbians and other prejudices.

...And the Carol Vorderman shows up. Flogging powder....I don't know.

  • Again Dennis is a pure visonary...He realized that the BBC and the economy were being highjacked by huge ruthless Media Barons and a vicious political ideology that puts a price on everything and everyone...Thank you for posting...
